Design Your Exterior for Maximum Curb Appeal
You never get a second chance to make a first impression. Picture two homes in same addition same size, but one has a half empty flowerbed and the other half has seen better days. The front door is dingy and has cracked paint and the porch is covered in dirt and leaves looking very unattended to. The other home is beautifully manicured with pops of color in the flowerbed, a stunning front door and sparkling windows and shows a lot of pride and care for the home.
Tip #1: Enhance the Home with Exterior Paint & Update the Main Door
What can you do? Paint or replace front door, trust me, it's worth the investment. Update light fixtures, power wash the home, you'll be amazed with the difference. Make the windows spotless. If you're not much of a gardener, you might want to hire a pro to spruce up the yard if it's in your budget.
Tip #2: Add Layers of Lighting & Attend to the Front Yard Landscaping
Now that you have your yard ready to impress, add some outdoor lighting to show it off. You don't have to necessarily hardwire them, there are some pretty good solar lights out there. I would stick with the meatal casing, not plastic.
Tip #3: Transform it with Window Treatments & Tasteful Exterior Decor
Now the details! A nice clean door mat will make your home feel more welcoming. Potted flowers and plants go a longways. Don't forget your window treatments are visible from the yard and should be tasteful. Avoid heavy drapes.
Now you have a great welcoming presentation for potential buyers and one that reflects a well-cared for home. Don't underestimate the power curb appeal!
If you're ready to prepare your home — inside and out — for its most profitable sale, let's talk!
Until next time,
